Mirror an external session to a TV (Slideshow or Session)

Mirroring the app screen to a TV will make the 360 booths more of an experience for everyone watching. It can be mirrored wirelessly using an Apple TV box or wired using an HDMI cable. The external session can be launched on a portrait or landscape TV.
You can also enable a QR sharing bar. That will allow the visitors to see the 4 (2 for portrait) latest files and use a QR to download the files.

There are two types of TV experiences: session and slideshow. The Session experience shows everything the camera device is doing, live view, countdown, end result. The Slideshow experience displays gallery elements in random order. The latest will display the end results after a session is finished (enable ‘Slideshow always’ to show gallery elements only).

Configuration

The external screen can be configured in the event settings (Touchpix.com) and in the app settings (Touchpix app). Configuring the external screen on your event settings defines your event’s default configuration. In other words, every time the event is refreshed the in-app settings are overwritten with the Touchpix.com event settings.
Here is how to configure the TV session:

Event Settings
  1. Log in to Touchpix.com.
  2. Create a custom event and scroll down to the ‘External Screen’ section. (Do you already have an event? Learn how to edit it.)
  3. Toggle on the options you’d like to have as your default event settings. (Your first event? Do not forget to visit the tutorial.)
  4. Go to your Touchpix app and activate this event. The external screen settings will now be loaded. If this is your first time enabling the external screen settings, an alert advising you to download additional content will show up.
  5. Wireless mirroring: Swipe down the Control Center of your iPhone or iPad. Tap on the ‘Mirror Screen’ icon tapping your Apple TV box item. The mirroring will start.
  6. Wired mirroring: Plug one end of the HDMI cable into a TV, then the other end into an adaptor compatible with your iPhone or iPad connector, then connect it to your device.

Note: If you’d like a vertical TV, head to the ‘In-app settings’ on this page. When creating an Event from preset, select the option it matches your external session’s desired configuration.

In-app Settings

It could be you need the external session temporarily. Then, a quick solution for this is to change that on the in-app Settings.

  1. Open the Touchpix app.
  2. Tap on the left-side corner of the screen followed by ‘Settings’.
  3. Use the top arrows to navigate through the Settings menu until reaching the ‘TV Session’ section.
  4. Toggle the live view or the slideshow on and decide whether you’d like to have the photo carousel or not.
  5. If you’d like a vertical TV session/slideshow, turn on the Vertical TV toggles. Decide the TV orientation by turning the image left or right.
  6. Close the Settings menu.
  7. Wireless mirroring: Swipe down the Control Center of your iPhone or iPad. Tap on the ‘Mirror Screen’ icon tapping your Apple TV box item. The mirroring will start.
  8. Wired mirroring: Plug one end of the HDMI cable into a TV, then the other end into an adaptor compatible with your iPhone or iPad connector, then connect it to your device.

Note: If you refresh the event at any time, the event settings will overwrite your in-app changes.
