Touchpix vs Simple Booth

Choose Simple Booth for a polished iPad/HALO workflow. Choose Touchpix for mixed hardware and more booth types.

Simple Booth offers polished iPad software that can run on an existing iPad or optional HALO hardware. It includes one booth licence per plan and publishes additional-licence pricing. Touchpix adds Android, Windows, macOS and Linux support plus 360, mirror, DSLR and roaming workflows.

Touchpix vs Simple Booth in one paragraph: Simple Booth is an iPad platform with optional HALO hardware. Its professional Core plan starts at US$24/week, US$49/month or US$490/year; a Lite App Store plan starts at US$15/week. Each plan includes one booth licence and Simple Booth publishes additional-licence pricing per tier. Its trial is 7 days. Touchpix starts at US$20.89/week, US$60.49/month or US$439.90/year (PhotoPass), runs on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux, and supports 360, mirror, DSLR and roaming workflows. Its trial is 14 days, automatically activated on signup, on a MultiPass trial licence. Simple Booth sells a polished iPad deployment. Touchpix gives an operator room to build an actual mixed fleet without paying again for every device.

Who each product is for

Choose Simple Booth if:

  • you want a polished HALO/iPad deployment;
  • enterprise brand-activation and data-governance tools are central to the job;
  • turnkey hardware matters more than platform and booth-type breadth.

Choose Touchpix if:

  • you run multiple booth types or mixed operating systems;
  • you need 360, mirror, DSLR or roaming workflows;
  • unlimited devices with active-event limits fit your fleet better than per-device licensing.

Build a fleet, not an iPad-only package.

Touchpix supports iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux, with unlimited devices and plan-specific active-event limits.

Detailed comparison

The Simple Booth add-on licence is the highest among the platforms we compared

This is the number that should decide your comparison.

Every Simple Booth plan includes one device licence. Each additional device is charged separately, and the price climbs with your tier:

Simple Booth tierAdd-on licence, weeklyMonthlyYearly
CoreUS$24US$36US$360
PlusUS$49US$74US$740
ProUS$111US$1,110
SelectUS$186US$1,860

So a second booth costs from US$24/week or US$360/year on Core and up to US$186/month or US$1,860/year on Select — every year, for every extra device.

Touchpix includes unlimited devices on every plan. MultiPass allows four active events, and each event can run on multiple devices simultaneously.

Three booths, one year

Both columns are quoted on annual billing, in US dollars.

TotalUS$879.99US$3,710

Simple Booth Pro publishes an additional-licence price of US$1,110/year per device. Touchpix includes unlimited devices and limits active events instead. This three-booth scenario fits within MultiPass's four active events, whether the booths share one event or use separate events.

One iPad, one booth type

Simple Booth's HALO product line is an iPad selfie station. It does that beautifully. What it does not give you:

  • 360 photo booths — the add-on clients keep asking for, and not something Simple Booth publishes
  • A mirror booth mode — not published
  • A dedicated roaming mode — Simple Booth markets HALO as well-suited to roaming photo booths, but there is no purpose-built roaming mode
  • GoPro capture — not published
  • A booth app on Android, Windows, macOS or Linux

Touchpix does all of it, and the plans stack in a way you can budget:

  • 360 photo booth with built-in Bluetooth that triggers the spinner automatically. Photos, GIFs and Photo AI are on PhotoPass; video, slow-motion and boomerang start at MultiPass
  • Mirror booth with 7 built-in themes
  • DSLR booth with Canon, Nikon and Sony — Nikon bodies are a Touchpix-only option in this comparison
  • Roaming photography and roaming iPad booth
  • Party booth and permanent installs on Raspberry Pi

When a client asks for a 360 at their wedding, you either say yes or you lose the booking. With Touchpix on MultiPass, you say yes.

Offline: same queue, different last mile

Both apps keep working when the venue Wi-Fi dies. Simple Booth's help centre is clear that capture and participant-data collection run offline, and that emails, texts and uploads queue up and send once you are back online; only login and settings sync need a connection. Credit where it is due — that is a solid offline story.

The difference is the last mile to the guest. With Scanpix 2, Touchpix hands the photo to the guest's phone with no internet at all, on Apple and Android devices, so nobody leaves the venue empty-handed waiting for a queued email. On Simple Booth, the guest gets their photo when connectivity returns.

7 days is not long enough to evaluate booth software

Simple Booth gives you a 7-day trial with full feature access, 25 complimentary credits and a 15-photo daily upload cap.

Touchpix gives you 14 days, automatically activated when you create an account, on a MultiPass trial licence — so you can test photos, GIFs, Photo AI, video, slow-motion and boomerang. (Surveys sit on Pro, and RAW cloud backup and Mosaic on Enterprise, so those are not part of the trial licence.)

Most operators do not have an event inside seven days. You end up evaluating booth software in your living room instead of at a real booking. Two weeks means you can actually run it at a paid event before you decide.

Switching to Touchpix

  1. Start a 14-day Touchpix trial — it is activated automatically when you create an account, on a MultiPass trial licence.
  2. Rebuild one representative HALO event in the Online Designer, including overlays, sharing and data-capture fields.
  3. Install Touchpix on the hardware you plan to use, including any Android, Windows, macOS or Linux devices.
  4. Test each booth type you sell, especially 360, mirror, DSLR and roaming workflows that differ from an iPad selfie station.
  5. Run a complete test event before moving a paid booking.

Frequently asked questions

There is no Android booth app. Simple Booth's HALO capture app runs on iPad only, though its Virtual Booth and AI Photo Booth products are browser-delivered and so are not tied to Apple hardware. Touchpix runs on Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux, so you can build booths on Android tablets as well as iPads.
Not that they publish. Simple Booth's HALO product line is built around an iPad selfie station, and a 360 booth mode is not part of their published feature set. Touchpix supports 360 photo booths with built-in Bluetooth spinner triggering, and works with GoPro 7–13 as well as Canon, Nikon and Sony cameras. Photos, GIFs and Photo AI are included on the entry PhotoPass plan; video, slow-motion and boomerang start at MultiPass.
Simple Booth plans are Core at US$49/month or US$490/year, Plus at US$99/month or US$990/year, Pro at US$149/month or US$1,490/year, Select at US$249/month or US$2,490/year, and Enterprise at custom pricing above Select. Each plan includes one device licence; additional licences run US$24/week, US$36/month or US$360/year on Core up to US$186/month or US$1,860/year on Select. Touchpix PhotoPass starts at US$20.89/week, US$60.49/month or US$439.90/year with unlimited devices included. Touchpix prices are localised, so your region may see another currency.
No. Simple Booth's public pricing FAQ says its software can run on an existing iPad and that HALO hardware is sold separately. Touchpix also requires no proprietary booth hardware and supports additional operating systems.
Largely, yes. Their help centre documents that capture and participant-data collection work without internet, and that emails, texts and uploads queue until you reconnect; only login and settings sync need a connection. Touchpix queues the same way, and adds Scanpix 2 internet-free delivery on Apple and Android, which hands the photo to the guest's phone at the booth without any connection at all.
Simple Booth markets HALO as well-suited to roaming photo booths, but does not publish a dedicated roaming mode. Touchpix ships purpose-built roaming photography and roaming iPad booth workflows.
Yes, especially for event operators running multiple devices or multiple booth types. Touchpix includes unlimited devices on every plan versus Simple Booth's one licence with add-ons up to US$1,860 per year, runs on five operating systems rather than an iPad-only booth app, and supports 360, mirror, DSLR and dedicated roaming workflows that Simple Booth does not publish.
Simple Booth offers a 7-day free trial with full feature access, 25 complimentary credits and a 15-photo daily upload cap. Touchpix gives you a 14-day trial, automatically activated when you create an account, on a MultiPass trial licence.
