DLSR not recognised after updating to iOS 26.x

This article addresses a specific connectivity issue that some users may experience with DSLR or mirrorless cameras in the Touchpix app after updating their iPhone or iPad from a previous version of iOS to iOS 26.x.

Diagnosis

After updating to iOS 26.x, the Touchpix app no longer recognizes your connected DSLR or mirrorless camera, even though:

  • The USB connection and adapter are working correctly.
  • The camera was detected without issues before the update.
  • No error message is displayed in the app.

Cause

During the update to iOS 26.x, app permissions are sometimes migrated in a way that can create a temporary duplicate entry for the app. In this case, Touchpix may appear listed twice under Settings → Privacy & Security → Files & Folders. This duplication interferes with the app’s ability to access the connected camera.

This behavior is related to how iOS handles permission updates when moving between major versions and is not unique to Touchpix.

Solution

To resolve the issue, reset the permission as follows:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down and tap Files & Folders.
  4. Locate the two entries for Touchpix.
  5. Toggle the first (upper) Touchpix entry OFF. The duplicate entry should disappear automatically.
  6. Toggle the remaining Touchpix entry back ON.

Return to the Touchpix app and attempt to connect your camera again. The camera should now be recognized.

Recommended Steps After Fixing

This permission reset has successfully resolved the connection problem for users affected by the update to iOS 26.x. The duplication is a one-time occurrence linked to the iOS upgrade process.

If your camera is still not recognized after following these steps, please contact our support team through the live chat on touchpix.com or directly from within the app.
