Printpix – A photo booth printing solution

Printpix is one of the most reliable printing solutions for Touchpix. Check the full list of compatible printers.

How to Connect Printpix

The most stable option is a fully wired setup. Choose the method that best suits your venue. Wireless setups are available but can be less stable in busy environments with high network traffic.

Connection Methods Comparison

Method Device → Printpix Stability Best For Recommended
1. Direct Wired Ethernet Very High Maximum stability ★★★★★
2. Wired + Router Ethernet via Router High Best internet speed ★★★★
3. Mixed Ethernet + Router WiFi High Good range + speed ★★★★
4. Full Wireless + Router WiFi via Router Medium Convenience ★★★
5. Direct Wireless (No Router) Direct WiFi Low * Very simple setups ★★

* This method requires extra care. When connecting directly via WiFi to Printpix, most iOS and Android devices tend to disconnect automatically from networks without internet access and switch to mobile data or another available WiFi. To maintain the connection, you must manually configure the device to stay connected to the network even without internet.

  8. Select your printer under Available Printers.
  9. Recommended: Enable Automatic paper selection for automatic 4×6" or 6×4" prints (it will automatically cut strip templates into two 2×6" photos) and others.
  10. Add margins if desired.
  11. Optional Internet Connection: You can connect Printpix to the internet (similar to Method 4) so the connected device has internet access. This step is not required for printing, but it is necessary when using AI Photo features.
  12. Warning: This is the least stable method. Most devices automatically disconnect from networks without internet access and switch to mobile data or another WiFi. This frequently interrupts the connection. Use only if no other option is available and monitor the connection constantly.
